Attraction of the human beings towards the Jewels has existed since the ancient times. Initially they were in the form of the crude shiny metals extracted from the earth’s crust or found on the surface. Jewelries were earlier limited to only a definite fixed group/ segment of the people. During the Medieval times they belonged only to the King and the king’s men. They were also used as currency in many provinces across the world. But, in due course of time with the increasing interest of the people of all segments these jewels have taken various forms right from necklaces and rings to brooches, earrings, bracelets and what not. There are further modifications in each of these forms. For instance in case of the men’s ring there are the crest rings, gold rings, monogrammed rings, initials ring, signet rings and what not.
These jewels are more cherished as a form of personal adornment, manifested in various forms. Earlier they were made of only a few limited elements but now they can be made from any material. Usually gemstones, precious metals (gold, silver, copper, platinum etc), pearls or shells have been used from time to time, depending upon the preferences.
